Shera and Mike’s engagement session was held at the horse
stables where she works and spends most of her time. Shera has performed in
competitions with some of these horses. We started our session in the barn,
which was fun because the hay bales were so high. I used the natural light
coming from the open door in front and a door in the back. I generally like to
use only the natural light and not any extra flash photography in these
conditions. I want my photography to be as natural as possible. I don’t use
flash, reflectors or any other artificial lighting during engagement sessions.
Anyway, they brought their dog along who turned out to be a great natural prop.
Keep it natural. That’s my motto.
