Julie & Eric's Windy Engagement Session on the Bay

This couple was a lot of fun and Julie made a beautiful bride-to-be, inside and out. Their wedding is only a month away and will be at The Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. The day was sunny but very windy. Windy is generally not good for photos of brides because their hair goes wild, but wind can also be cool, photo-wise. It can lend another dimension to the images. The key was for Julie to be aware of where the wind was coming from and to face that direction. That way the hair didn’t blow into her face. Calm is beautiful but windy is kind of wild and crazy. Today the images were both. They were beautiful, thanks to Julie and Eric and crazy due to the wind and high waves coming in. I was quite satisfied with the images.

Alex and Travis in Oxford, MD

Alex and Travis’s wedding and reception were both held at her parents beautiful home in Oxford, MD. This house was buzzing with activity when Steve Plantin, my 2^nd shooter, & I arrived. Kari Rider, the wedding planner, was on top of things, making sure everything fell into place according to plan. We shot the girls getting hair and makeup done and headed next door above the barn where the guys were getting ready.

Alex made her grand entrance in a vintage Ford pickup truck driven by her father. The ceremony was overlooking the water, decorated nicely in flower arrangements and pedals. Formal pictures followed the ceremony. The entire wedding party and parents went up to the 2^nd story balcony overlooking the pool and guests for another picture op.

We moved on to the reception where the festivities continued under a huge tent with The Mutual Fun band. They performed at Alex’s sister’s wedding, which we shot several years ago.

We later took more photos of the couple with the pickup truck and at sunset. The evening was highlighted by a fireworks display.

It was an outstanding day of shooting. We loved spending it with this wonderful family, beautiful couple and fun wedding party.
