Danielle & Chad's Wedding

This past Saturday was Danielle and Chad's wedding. It took place at Kurtz Beach in Pasadena, Maryland. I started the photography at Danielle and Chad's home in Baltimore. The idea was to capture Danielle getting ready as well as getting some family pictures done.

Everyone was super nice and in great spirits. It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining and the temps were going into the mid 70'S. Perfect wedding day weather. Danielle was absolutely stunning! Hair and makeup perfect. And the dress was beautiful and more beautiful on her. Danielle's sister Jacqueline and Chad's sister Ashley were a huge help with getting Danielle's dress on.

After I finished pictures with Danielle and her family at the house I headed over to Kurtz Beach. This was the location of both ceremony and reception. It is located on the Chesapeake bay. The Ceremony being held on the deck overlooking the water. It is very lovely site. The staff met me and was very nice and very helpful to me. Inside there is a large circular dance floor with high ceilings. The bar is in an adjoining room where the buffet was to be set up.

The videographer was Steve Young from Five Star Media Productions. He was great to work with. Never in my way and very friendly to everyone. In fact, probably one of the most talkative and friendly Video shooters I ever worked with. I highly recommend him.

The DJ's were Carly and Jim from DanceMasters. Carly was a very good MC and Jim kept the music lively. They are a great husband and wife team. Carly also helps couple's with there first dance choreography. Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. This is the first time I worked with them. I hope to work with them more in the future.

The ceremony was short and sweet. The way I like them. Afterwards everyone went inside for cocktail hour and we were able to do the family formal pictures on the deck overlooking the bay. The light was late evening so there was not any harsh light issues as last week. I used my Quantum flash set on remote for the groups. After the family pictures I snuck Danielle and Chad away for some less formal more alone time pictures. They are great together. Chad always has a big smile on his face. They are both so nice.

It was a good wedding. I had a great time. I loved Danielle and Chad and there families. I wish them all the best.

Equipment wise, I used the Canon 5D Mark II with a 24/70 2.8 lens for the majority of the pictures. Also used the Canon 1D Mark III with a 70/200 2.8 lens. I switched from the 5D to another 1D Mark II during the reception. I just get better results at the reception after dark with the 1D mark II and it uses less memory.
